Egles Mebelu Dizains Ltd. is woodworking company established in 12th of August 1997 as a family enterprise, based on old family traditions and experience developed in Centuries in furniture production. Juris Egle was a first member of the family who started to develop furniture business as joiner. He practiced in Jelgava craftsman workshop. After a while he moved to Riga and started to work on his own. Juris son, Karlis Voldemars Egle, kept the boll rolling in this business. He became famous with masterpieces in Congress Palace and other Russian Government houses in Moscow; his works were presented in the Furniture Exhibition "Osaka- 70" in Japan. Karlis Voldemars son, Uldis Egle, in his turn, was also attracted to furniture business by his father in his early childhood. He quickly caught tricks of the trade from his father and started to work in "Rīgas mēbeļu fabrika" (Riga Furniture Factory) when he was only 16 years old. Since 1965 he worked in "Skolas un bērnu mēbeļu kombināts" (School and Children Furniture Factory), where he developed more deeply joinery skills and administrative skills. He worked in the Factory in different positions for 16 years. After this experience he had a bash at Riga Reconstruction Bureau for 16 years more. He put his shoulder to the reconstruction works of different objects, such as Rundale Palace, St. Peters Church, Dom Church, The Cabinet of Ministers, Government House, Opera Theatre of Latvia and many other buildings in Old City of Riga. He has presented his masterpieces in Exhibitions in Germany and Japan. He fulfilled Baikonor Aerospace Centre in Kazakhstan and Government houses in Cuba furniture orders. In 12th of August, 1997 Uldis Egle together with his son Martin Egle established joinery enterprise Egles mēbeļu dizains (Egles furniture design). Last four years they have put their efforts to follow family joinery traditions and tips.
